Ok Boys,
Here I am trying to assemble my newly overhauled 235 block; I have the crank in, plastigauged, torqued and turning smoothly. Now I'm trying to assemble the rods and pistons. Here are my questions:
1. What is the correct orientation of the connecting rod wrist pin clamp bolt in reference to the front of the engine? Intake or Distributor side?
2. What is the correct torque for the wrist pin bolts?
3. What is the correct torque for the rod end bolts?
4. Any other suggestions that might help me end up with a great running engine?
I'm using an 848 head that is stock but is completely overhauled, with a 261 grind cam, an Offy 2 pot manifold with two carter/weber 2bbls and fenton headers. I also expect to buy an HEI from Tom.
Your comments and advice are appreciated.
Bill
