I think Denny has a good point. IF you are not afraid to work on your 'daily' driver, then you will be fine. With mine (1950) after a few years, I know the truck pretty well now and do use it a lot, but not as my daily driver.
I also think that routine maintenance is mandatory on the older equipment, but that's part of the fun too!
