I bought a turn signal kit a year or so ago, and just got around to installing it in my 41 Sedan. The kit came with a NAPA 550 12V flasher.
When first tried, the lights on the signal flashed away, and looked great. But nothing at the park or tail lights. Got the meter out and could detect a very small voltage pulse. Detectable voltage, but not enough to light the halogen park and tail lights. I figured flasher sat too long or something. I ran to the store and first tried a heavy duty electronic flasher. Had X-L-P tabs just like one I had. Nothing.
Went back and got a regular three prong flasher. Prongs were '+', 'L', '-'. Changed the wires with P to '+', and X to '-'. Park and taillights flash, but quickly. (Flasher flashes doublespeed when bulb burned out, but all my halogen bulbs are working fine.) Also, the turn signal doesn't light up and flash anymore. The hazards work fine.
What flasher can work! Thanks!
