No, its not. I have 3 motors, this is the second one I am trying to figure out.

Plus most block number pages simply state what year and CID the motor is. Since this motor is a 53 and there was a pretty big change for 53's mid year I wanted to get the info right.

Please take another look at the photos... am I close to ID'ing the engine and what's in it??

I believe this is a 'low pressure' 'dipper' motor. I *think* the rods may have babbit for bearings. What about the mains? Are they babbit also? I read about 'converted' rods, but that would also require a new (or drilled for oil passages) crankshaft.

I may just put this one on the back burner... but its running now and the motor style is much closer to the original (a 45 235) than the 54+s are (water pump being the biggest issue).
