My 1/2 ton 1953 panel came with a hole in the passenger side cowl. (Obviously not correct but I have to use it) It seems to be located all right. It's very close to the windshield rubber. On the inside, it's behind the glove box and the heater, not much room there. As soon as I find the correct antenna, I will know if it clears the open hood.
