Your title may have the engine serial number used to identify it not the chassis number. Have you checked to see it that's the case? Most States did it this way until the mid 50's.

If your engine has been replaced you now have a truck where none of the numbers match. If it were me I'd call my DMV sooner than later to get it straightened out. They may require a statement from the previous owner and if you wait it might be hard to make that happen.
