I have a 216 in my 39. It runs great with the 3.33 rear end gears I had made for it. Not as much oomph in 1st gear, but it'll cruise all day at 60-65 mph. Just be sure the nozzles are aimed properly on the oil pan, and the dippers on the rods are in working order. The oil pressure is 15 lbs. when the engine is cold, and drops to 5-10 at idle when warm. About the only modification on the engine was using 1940 push rods and lifters.
