I have a 55' 235 in my 53' and replaced the pump woth one from Patricks. I have a fan clearance problem too but solved it with a set of Morroso fan spacers and a fan from a 56' 265 engine. Never had any heating problems even on the hottest days. Check it out at the photos in the link below.
