Hi Dan welcome to the site. Hey, the donkey is behind the wheel and the horses are under the hood, haha. I'm not sure if you can get the build sheet from GM, I know I can here in Canada back to the early 60s or slightly earlier.
Yes, there is a lot of info on this site, even have a separate section for 60-66 trucks; check it out. Hope you and your son can get this project done, always good to have a son help with it. Good luck.
