Body numbering started at 1001 for most years in the '50s era. I don't know about engine numbers.
The TF trucks Chassis/Body serial numbers didn't follow that starting number for all years, they are as follows:
1955 = 001001
1956 = 001001
1957 = 100001
1958 = 10001
1959 = 100001
So subtracting 1000 only works for 55 & 56.
Engine serial numbers ended after 1956.
