First thing to remember is the sentence in my first post:
THERE ARE OTHER, NON-CHEVROLET VERSIONS OF THE RJH-08 CASTINGS!
Now the bad news (you started asking about prices).
You can purchase a 1957 Chevrolet dual quad setup for less than a professionally restored 150s!!!
When restoring, a professional has the following approximate odds in BREAKING the following internal parts from the 150s (ALL of which must be removed for proper restoration):
Venturi - 95 %
Choker cone - 80 %
Standpipe - 100 %
Idle jet - 95 %
Main discharge nozzle - 90 %
Pump jet - 50 %
Accelerator pump assembly 50 %
The odds for a non-professional grow to roughly 100 % for each.
The good news is .....ALL of the above are available.
The bad news is ...... the list price for all of the above is about $2800.
Now when you add the probability of replacing the idle mixture screw, the throttle shaft, maybe the choke shaft, maybe the metering rod..............this is NOT an inexpensive carburetor.
The floats and the bowls are made from unobtanium which is why I posted they were the critical parts.
Once the carb is finished, it looks gorgeous on the engine; but on a scale of 1 (awful) to 10 (wonderful) it rates about a 3.
We suggest that these be placed on either a showcar or a museum car that is never started. For a driver, there are a number of less expensive, and much better carbs.
