The stock shocks were designed not to bottom out when the suspension was setting on the bump stops. Therefore as long as you don't modify the rubber bump stops the shocks will work just fine.
Lowering springs more than 2" lower than stock on the front will provide very little suspension travel... that's when folks start cutting bump stops for more clearance, that's when you end up needing shorter shocks.
