I think that I just don't want to see "Halogen" on the bulb. I found non-halogen bulbs on line at Do-It-Best hardware and can be shipped to the store. I'll check out this afternoon. Otherwise, I'll contact one of your sources.

A bit of useless info that I dug up ...
I believe that the original bulb that would have been in my truck was a 6v #6006. The 12v bulb in 55(2nd), 56, 57 was #6012 (40amp low/50amp hi). The 6012 was superceeded by #6014 (50amp low/60amp hi). The 12v halogen bulb is #6024.

I guess if I wanted a true '54, I should have had Ken Warner build a 6v gen for my truck instead of a 12v disguised as a 6v. I chould have converted it all back to 6v pretty easily. You're right - I'm not as old school as I pretend to be!
