I've been lurking around this forum for awhile trying to pick up some tips before I re-wire my 58 Apache. Your step-by-step documentation of your experience at your website has been helpful.
The project still freaks me out & I'll probably wait until fall. Now would be a good time since I have the engine out but I don't have a garage & I don't want to leave my brandy new rebuild hanging on the engine hoist any longer than necessary. Yeah right! If I'm being truthful, I gotta grow a bit more hair on my exhaust manifold before I undertake the project!
Anyhow, I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to document your experience & make it available for the rest of us.
BTW - noticed you're a Gibson man. I was too for a long time but got seduced by Takamine about 18 months ago & I switched over like a $2 hooker!
