.... what I am needing is the glass butyl that holds the glass in the pivoting frame. The only things I had to take apart to get this inner frame out were the nut on the bottom of the wing window below the big spring, and then pull down on the upper part of inner window frame to release post from it's locating hole....
yes, what you need is called glass setting tape, should be available from a local glass shop in various thicknesses ..... I'm not liking your description of taking the glass frame out of the vent assembly, hopefully you didn't distort anything pulling it out of the top hole, but once it has the new glass in it you're likely to bend something to get it back in, that's not the way the factory would do it .... and you replaced the rigid riveted on seal with the assembly still in the door? I think others might like to hear how you did that .... also make sure you get the pointy eccentric washer back in the right place and orientation, it controls which direction the vent opens
