I brought my generator, regulator and battery to the repair shop that did the rebuild. They did a load test on the battery, which checked out fine. They bench tested the generator which was working properly. It turns out the regulator was stuck on and caused the generator to overheat. I had the rebuild done 10 months ago, but the warranty was only for 6 months. Despite the fact that I have only run the truck for 15 minutes in the last 10 months, it did not matter for the warranty, I had to buy a new one(at cost). The regulator did not have a manufacturer name on it, but it did have "Made in USA" stamped on it. I am concerned about the soldier, but the truck seems to running properly, at this point. Thanks to everyone for sharing your knowledge and suggestions.
