I bought the gas tank, (same size for pick-ups,as well as big Bolts),from L.M.C.,as well as the fuel pump.I believe that all of the external engine parts are interchangeable between the 235,and the 261.There are several different warehouses that supply a vast amount of parts for our trucks,even though they're geared more toward our little cousins. A great source for engine questions/parts,as well as intake/header-exhaust,(if interested),is Patrick's Antique Performance,Casa Grande,Az. I called them with my engine #'s,and found that I have a 235 head,and a 261 block. My engine is also S.C.O.,which means it doesn't use an oil-filter. I asked them if they had a by-pass system available,and instead of trying to sell me their kit,(one is available),the guy said,"How old are you?" I replied,"55". He said:"That truck is older than you are,and it's been doin just fine without an oil filter,so why add one now?! That's what I like about these guys! TRUE STOVEBOLTERS! They are more than happy to help you with your project,but they won't try and sell you something you don't really need! Another great source for engine and cab-parts is Jim Carter. I usually shop between all the "Jobbers" I mentioned. They all provide great service,as far as my experience. Hope this helps.
