Pushrods aren't critical at all, as long as the ends aren't showing significant wear. The lifters absolutely must stay with the cam lobes they ran-in on, so if it's ever necessary to remove them, or turn the engine to an angle where they might fall out of their bores, take them out and label them so they can go back into the same hole they came out of.
