Well...I just bit the bullet and plunked down a large pile of money for a new from the factory transmission. I knew I wanted an Allison six-speed and after nearly a year of searching finally determined that a brand new Allison would only be a grand or so more expensive than buying a questionable used unit and rebuilding it to my needs. Plus this one will sport a 5 year, 200K warranty.
Anybody here taken on installing one of these fourth generation units? Still a lot to work out, so I'm shopping for any experience I can find.
