For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 50 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 50 | I got the ujoint seals from classic parts this included the blue gaskets/shims for the ball joint as well as the cork seal that goes inside the ball joint; this stopped the leak at that point which is just to the rear of the transmission; I then got the part number for the seal from denny's pics, he had the correct number, this seal goes on the rear end of the enclosed shaft and requires the removal of the support bushing which we also replaced. the tranny oil was leaking down the enclosed shaft and out at the support bearing. at any rate now there is absolutely no tranny leak, dry as a bone. thanks to all for the help and to denny for the pics and seal number. charles | | |
