Different strokes I guess.
I had to fabricate a longer center bracket for the Fulton on my '38 as well. I don't like the low front sleepy sombrero look either. I guess the deciding factor is whether you want to open the windshield or not. One thing is it's not permanent. If you mount it and decide in the future you want the windshield to open you can always remove it. Four small holes in each door jamb to plug and they are out of sight with the doors closed.
