For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 1,232 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 1,232 | Had my running boards painted and they look great, but now I can't get the rear holes to line up with the mounting holes in the rear fender. Any suggestions?
I've only tried the passenger board so far. I inserted stainless washers between the board and the supports to maintain constant contact along the entire running board. Even with the board shimmed above the supports, the holes at the rear of the running board are still about 1/4" below the holes in the rear fender. AND the running board holes are 3/8" toward the outside of the rear fender holes. I can't seem to warp the fender enough to move the board inward the required 3/8".
The holes are off too much to insert a pick at an angle and pull them together.
Thanks for any advice that you can give to me.
