Thank you Cletis, exactly what I meant to say. Some of the starter motors used in some of the GMC trucks shared the same starters as some of the Buicks and other GM cars. They would all have had different Delco numbers of course but aftermarket numbers grouped them together, this way you could easily figure out that one specific starter may have fit other motors regardless of the specific Delco number. Kind of a cheat sheet for the original Delco numbers.
Yes on the Buick engine for 56 CHEVY. 1956 Truck, Series 9000 and 10000 had optional 322 Buick engine. There was even an optional power steering generator specific for this truck and motor that was different from the basic power steering generator used on the standard cars and smaller trucks.
