different years/trans/starters use different flex plates, and there are at least 4 different starters for 350's with automatics - what year engine and what year trans? are you sure the flex plate you have is appropriate for the 700R4 and starter? 168 or 153 tooth .... starter for an 03 s-10 v6 may work, I think they use the 153 tooth flex plate
