For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 11 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 11 | Truck is a 49 3100. Engine is a 235. I'm hearing a subtle tapping when cold so thought I'd check valve clearances. But discovered that I don't know if I have hydraulic lifters or not. Here's what I found on the engine:
Flat plate behind distributor: F410A On block above starter: CON40 AD 57 (not sure if it's an A or a dimple). On cyl head above intake manifold: 3836848 GM10 On block below distributor: 383004 On cyl head above plug #3: B50 848/850
Hopefully this provides enough info to ID.
Appreciate any help,
Mike | | |
