After three years, the frame-off restoration of my 56 short-bed half- ton is finished. Just about every part was repaired, renewed, or replaced. It sits on an original 56 frame from Los Angeles with a 57 cab from Tarrytown. All sheet metal is OEM, except for the bedsides and steps which are reproductions. I did have to convert 57 front fenders to 56 by removing the grille mounting location. The engine is the correct 56 Thriftmaster and is original to the vehicle.
