I bought a 49 Chevy 3100 about 3 months ago. I think there was 12 litters of cats born in the cab. The stink permeated the springs in the bench seat so it had to go. I went down to the u-pic-it scrap yard and got two captain chairs from the middle row of a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country($10 each). They fit perfectly. There's about 18" between the seats for a console. Or just leave open with some carpet to deaden the sound and besides one of the chairs has a pull out duel cup holder and both have handles to drop the backs forward to accesses the gas tank where I'm going to make a shelf. They also have pull down arm rests.
