Have a question on my 228, please keep in mind I am not an engine guy and will probably call something by it's wrong name. When I take the valve cover off there is a tube that sits on the last post I call that the oil return tube. I believe it takes the oil fron the shaft and drops it down into the lifters[if it was not crimped] On mine the end is crimped closed, some oil flows thur but not much, should it be? The tube does have a pinhole break in it which is probably metal fatigue? I currently have oil pressure which runs from a low of 20 to a max of 50, Is this all right? The engine has not been rebuilt The end of this tube being crimped bothers me because I worry it is restricting the flow of the oil but also realize that it may need to be crimped to allow the rocker arms to get lubricated> Am I making nothing into something ? Thanks for response, Doug . If I need a new oil return tube anyone know were I can get one?
