Hy mobileortho, it took me a while to find a wiring diagram on a 1990 Camaro, but from what I found the red wire could be looped back to the output post and the black wire as well, the brown wire should go to an ignition source (powered when the key is on). You mentioned going back and forth with fuel injection/carb, what are you using for a fuel pump? Seeing as how the problem existed with both carb and fuel injection could your fuel delivery system be plugged up in some way?
