Good call! I'd also highly reccomend another set of rods- - -they show up on Ebay pretty often at reasonable prices, either NOS or reconditioned by Federal-Mogul or some other nationwide distributor. A very talented local machine shop can do good-quality rod reconditioning, but it takes a lot of attention to detail to make sure the big end is resized correctly. I ran the rod recon department at a big machine shop for several years, specializing in big Diesel equipment, and we held our work to extremely tight tolerances. Not all shops do that.
