#87092 05/21/2002 7:55 PM | Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 504 Member | | Member Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 504 | With that brake light switch in the off position ( against the firewall ) there should be power to one side of the switch. You may have to turn on the key to power it. When the brake is depressed and the arm swings away and activates the switch, power is sent through the other side of the switch and back to the brake lights.
If the switch checks out OK, follow the wire back to the rear along the inside of the frame. You may have a break in the wire or a bad connection. Also be sure the bulb sockets are clean and the bulbs are good. Check the grounding of the tail light housing as well..
