| | | | Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 59 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 59 | I thought my engine was a 1953 chevy 216 but later found out it was a 1957-62 chevy 235 after I bought the new starter. I took the starter off and went to napa and the new starter I got looked like the same one I took off the engine. I put the new one on and now it could engage every time. It sounds like the starter just spins without turning the fly wheel. It does engages once in a while. We tried to it the starter without pressing down the starter pedal and it just sounds like it spins. Can you run a starter for a 216 on a 235? | | |
