I have a question about how the old remote Fram oil filters were installed on the intake manifolds of the 216's. I have the oddball shaped "U-bolts" and know where they go but was wondering if the filter was simply butted up against the manifold or if muffler clamp type flanges were used between the filter and manifold since the surface of the manifold is somewhat rounded and the mounting flange on the oil filter is basically flat. This would seem to give a better fit. I was hoping someone could tell me what the correct way of doing this was.
