I was just about to post a link to that vacuum gauge site as well. It's a good un for folks trying to sort things out.
I also saved a link I stumbled across from 2002 by a guy banned from the M_P_R forum that walks you through the timing/carb set up for a 4V Eddy/Carter using the vac gauge. One of the better guides I've run across searching the web looking for nuggets of knowledge.
