it was very very easy actually

ordered the brackets from 5th avenue, they seemed a little cexpensive ($65), but they made the job soooo much easier.

remove the old generator

remove old brackets

tape up old wires

install new brackets(move the upper bracket up one water pump bolt)

install new alternator

I ordered the DA plug with the brackets (15 dollars)

I added a high output 180 amp unit that I bought else where, it is the standard 70's-80's chevy alternator, with the correct pulley alreaedy on it

run the red wire from da plug to the positive battery post on rear of alternator

run 1 4 ga wire from the same post to the positive battery post

and last I ran the yellow wire from the da plug to the green wire on the firewall mounted resistor.

It was actually very easy
