The "old" style - metal to metal, spring cushioned - mounts were also the standard mount used on all of the CMP trucks made by Chev/GMC for the Canadian military 1939-45. The profile of the crossmember also looks familiar. (One exception I know of is the 3 ton 6x6 that had the 270 CID instead of the 216 and used two stubs from the frame rather than a full crossmember and rubber rear mounts - I think that other CMP with the 270 were similar). If you need new "hard" mounts and springs, kits do show up on e-bay from time to time.
