At 7:30am I thought I would get up before my kids did and ran to the garage to drop my 235 back into the 49. I had everything ready to go, I thought it would be a piece of cake... HA!
First I forgot to install the front mount shield after I had the motor already in place... whoops... up it came, shield installed, back in.
Looked pretty good until I got underneath to see how the rear transmission mounts sat on the cross member.
<Rear Mount Passenger> <Rear mount driver> As you can see - they don't sit flat on the cross member at all.
I purchased new mounts as my old ones looked NOTHING like what I've seen on others trucks, also it had zero rubber.
<New & Old Mounts> The old mounts are at the top. Considerably smaller.
Has anyone seen my old style rubberless mounts?
Should I reinstall the old, or grind down the new?
I don't understand the purpose of the rubber on the new mount when it looks like the engine rests on the metal part of the mount anyway....
Please advise - I have an engine lift / truck sitting in my garage door that the wife wont appreciate!
