thanks everybody, I will see if my aluminum floor jack fits behind the seat and if it has the throw to get her off the ground. carrying wood blocks is a great idea. I have a 1960s mercedes limo, which weighs about 6,000 pounds and it has a wooden block about 1 foot square and about 2 inches thick. Its covered in loop pile carpeting to give it a bit of traction.
speaking of behind the seat, what is the filter that is behind the seat on the passenger side next to the gas tank filler? It is a can about 4 inches in diameter with a flat head screw in the top.
