On that note, I was hit on a '74 Honda CB750 about 11yrs ago by an '86 Chrysler NY'er. The top/cap sheered off and tank split at the bottom weld on impact. There were plenty of sparks and I was soaked in gas. No fires tho. Gasoline won't necessarily ignite even with a spark.
