I have a 1952 450 with 302. The generator bracket was the same as my 48. The 48 was 6 volt I just mounted an old Buick 12 volt generator to it and added a 12 volt Regulator. The reason for using an old Buick generator is that it has a bearing in each end.

Are you staying 6 volt or converting to 12 volts???

Same bracket. IF 12 volt there are 2 different 12 volt generators available. A long and a short bolt type, both will mount on the same bracket. Get one with bearings in both ends, which can be hard to find.

You might want to consider a 12 volt Alternator.

Bracket are available at many auto part stores.

My throttle spring was also attached to the generator bracket.

I got a throttle return spring bracket from Jim Carter...#MEE295 and spring #ME459
