Yes Tony, the frames are virtually the same. Body mounts, rear floor mounts and the gas tank mounts are different. The 1949 frame will have the knee action shocks and mounts and the 1951 and later will have the tube mounted shocks and brackets.
They are just bolt on stuff correct? i have the part to swap from knee action to tube shocks already so im set there
Had to dig up this old topic got a 51 1/2 shortbed frame for my 49 suburban going to start working on it i know gas tank mount for sure is different but can some one point out EXACTLY what frame body mounts are different? is it just redrilling holes in the frame?
