I got a set of SS corner covers, and the holes are not pre-drilled. The instructions say to place the covers over the corner strips (my corner strips are still welded to the bed), and mark the holes from underneath. Way easier said than done. Half of the holes don't have enough room to even get my hand under, let alone mark the holes with something.
Beides that, they don't fit in well as a cover. I can tell they were made to cover the existing strips, because both dimesions of the L are slightly longer, however if I push the bottom part into place, the top part kicks out a little and vice versa. I'm hoping tht once I crank down the bolts, this resolves itself.
In any case, I need to get these holes drilled. So, any tips on getting the holes in the right spot? I'm thinking I'll just place the cover next to the strip and eyeball it and mark the holes with a pen. I'm pretty nervous doing that- this is kind of a one shot deal.
Also, any tips for drilling these out in general? Should I drill from the top or the bottom? Should I start with a specific size bit and move up to a larger bit?
Thanks!
