I think basically any type of hydraulic fluid should work. If you have to raise the bed to add it, be SURE to block it securely so it don't come down on you and turn your wife into a widow!
Also, leave out the plug the first time you let it back down. That way, if you overfill it, the excess fluid can escape and not blow the seals out.
