Dish soap in a spray bottle, patience and a bit of luck. I have put them in before and there is a fine line between success & failure. Ropping it in, is the best method IMHO. Put the rubber on the glass and put the assembly in the opening, bottom first. With one set of hands steadying it from the inside, pull the rope from the outside, making sure the beaded side of the rubber is facing out. The bead is added after the assembly is in the opening, starting from the bottom and working your way around the perimeter. The dish soap/water in the spray bottom is effective in elimnating the friction of the rope against the rubber. When the bead is installed, it must be cut-to-length, in order to meet itself at the beginning.
I have found a Teflon push tool and a hook tool, are useful in the process. Also, a set of suction cups is very helpful, to manipulate the glass, especially when it is slippery.
