Years ago I had a telescoping double hook device that hooked around the brake pedal on one end (pulling up) and around the steering wheel spoke (pulling down) on the other. This prevented steering and braking as long as the device was in place. It had a key like a Coke machine lock- round. It was easy to store, between the seat and door, when not in use. It was fast to put in place and remove. I could see it working fairly well with Stovebolts.
This one is somewhat similar (but with the hook directions swapped from what I had.)
