No truck 235 came with hydraulic lifters; however, 1958 and later truck 235 blocks were made to allow the use of hydraulic lifters.
All car 235s from 1956 and onwards came with hydraulic lifters. Prior to 1956, only Powerglide-equipped car engines has hydraulic lifters.
The physical characteristics given above are probably incorrect. The "squish" test given above is often recommended.
