Albert - no - you're talkin of a different kinda "knot", and if I picture that right it'd require at least 1 or 2 additional movements, where what I do [was taught by USAF back then] is speedy and works fine, and the waxed cord is a good part of that - when pulled thru and "cinched" forward it holds quite well
slomoe - I've seen those switchboard wire jobs at a salvage yard
