Actually, the 216 was the standard engine for the ton and 1/2 trucks as well. I had a completely original one family owned 4100 that had the venerable 216 in it. I researched the old Chevy literature, and it said that the 235 dipper was optional for the 4000 series and standard equipment for the 6000s. Hope this helps.
