I was lookin for a new engine (235/261) for my 1956 chevy truck and came across a 235 from a 1954 gmc wit all new rings And bearings and runs really good as I watched the 54 in parades before. I was wandering if this motor would fit alright in my 56 or if there was any big differences as Im aware the 54 was the Earlier years of the 235 in trucks and I'm also wandering if the gmc engine would fit in place of the Chevy. And if it would fit ok is there any real differences in the motors themselves like horsepower, oils pressure etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated
