As a follow up on drive shaft shorting. When the single piece drive shaft was too short, I had the two piece drive shaft shortened. I called a local shop that shortened drive shafts. The shop told me to measure both trannies and find the difference. I measured both trans found the difference. Took the shaft to them gave them the difference. Picked the shaft and it installed with out a problem. I've banged the trans pretty hard more than once and no problems.
